Nicotine withdrawal should cause slow heart rate not fast rates. My husbands heart is speeding. Why?

Nicotine Withdrawal Symptoms

Cravings to smoke

Irritable, cranky

Insomnia

Fatigue

Inability to Concentrate

Headache

Cough

Sore throat

Constipation, gas, stomach pain

Dry mouth

Sore tongue and/or gums

postnasal drip

Tightness in the chest

His heart rate could be increasing due to anxiety from the withdrawl or be completely unrelated. If it continues for any longer, he should be seen by his family doctor or go to emergency. Call an ambulance if the fast heart rate is accompanied by chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, severe headache, or altered level of consciousness.
