Quick question...I went to the doc the other day and my baby%26#039;s heartbeat was 144. He said everything sounds good, etc. But is that a little low? What is the average range? Its been bugging me...

Nothing to worry about. The twins had rates of 157 and 153, then the next month were down to like, 148 and 146, month after back up... Don%26#039;t really know why. Maybe they were active when it was higher and sleeping when it was lower. Ask your doc if you%26#039;re concerned. Good luck, hon!

As long as the heartbeat falls between 140 and 180, your fine. Mine was 188 last week and the doctor was actually a bit concerned and I have to go back in today.

i dont know the average range, but my baby now is around that. my dr said that it was fine. if there was a problem with it, your dr would have said so.

No, that%26#039;s a good heart rate! My baby runs anywhere from 140 to 150. You have nothing to worry about. If they were worried they would say so.

Nope that is perfectly normal. I seem to think that a low heartbeat is under 120 and high is 160 so 144 sounds perfect. :) Also, If you go by the old wives tale, a heartbeat above 140 means it is a boy. ;)

it depends how far you are.
my last appointment at 20 weeks the babys rate was 143. which my doctor said is normal.
then it drops for a big and picks up before labour.

144 is a great heart rate, good and healthy. Average range for the fetal heart rate is 110 to 160 and when the baby is active it can be as high as 180. Both of my kids ( a girl and a boy) had an average fetal heart rate of 140-150.

Well they say if its over 160 its a girl and under 160 its a boy. I dont think its too low. It sounds pretty average.

Sounds normal to me. Our baby%26#039;s was 146 last week and my doctor said it was normal! So don%26#039;t worry!!!

No, 144 is absolutely great! My baby%26#039;s is usually below that. At my US last month, it was only 123 - that freaked me out. But he%26#039;s doing great!

no thats not a little low. my babys heat rate at 7 weeks was 127bpm. they say it can average between 110bpm and 190bpm. your baby sounds very healthy as the average is 140bpm. congratulations and good luck
